John Winston Ono Lennon Stanley was a musician and English composer who rose to fame as one of the founding members of The Beatles, one of the most commercially successful and critique of the history of rock music. Together with Paul McCartney, he formed one of the most successful pairs of composers of the 20th century.

He was born and grew up in Liverpool, where still adolescent he became familiar with the skiffle genre, forming the band The Quarrymen, who later became The Beatles, 1960. When the Group began to fall apart until its dissolution at the end of that decade, Lennon began a solo career, marked by several critically acclaimed albums including John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as & quot;Give Peace a Chance and Imagine & quot;

Imagine A great song!

It showed a rebellious character and wit scathing in music, film, literature and the drawing, and in the press conferences and interviews. He was also controversial because of his activism for peace, along with his wife Yoko Ono. In 1971, he moved to New York, where his opposition to the war of Viet Nam gave rise to numerous attempts by the Government of Richard Nixon to expel him from the country, while his songs were taken as hymns for the movement against the war. After his self-imposed "retirement" of the music business in 1975 to devote time to his family, Lennon returned to emerge in 1980 with an album of return, Double Fantasy, though he was killed three weeks after its release.

He was born in Liverpool, son of Julia and Alfred Lennon Maternity Hospital. According to some biographers, at that time it was carrying out a German air attack and the sister of his mother, Mary Mimi Smith, used the flashes of light caused by the explosions to get to the hospital by the destroyed streets. Smith would later, from the moment that I saw John in the hospital, I knew that I was his single mother, not Julia. Sounds horrible? But, in reality it is not, because Julia accepted it as something perfectly natural. She used to say: & quot;You are his true mother. All I did was give to light & quot;. It was named after his paternal grandfather, John Jack Lennon, John Winston Lennon and by the Prime Minister of the time Winston Churchill.

His father, a merchant seaman during World War II, was often away from home and regularly sent their salary checks at Newcastle Road, Liverpool, where Lennon lived with his mother. Checks are no longer sent when Alfred Lennon leave without notice in 1943. When he finally came home in 1944, he offered to take care of the family, but his wife (pregnant with another man) rejected the idea. Under considerable pressure, awarded him the care of Lennon to his sister before this record separate complaints to the social services in Liverpool. In July 1946, the father of Lennon visited Smith and took him to Blackpool, with the intention of emigrating to New Zealand with him. His mother followed them (along with her partner 'Bobby' Dykins) and, after a heated argument between the two, his father forced him, its just five years, to choose who would stay. Lennon chose his father twice. As his mother walked away, began to cry and followed her. Since that time it would be twenty years before her return to her father.

Lennon formed The Beatles with members of his first band, The Quarrymen, a group of skiffle which had been formed in September 1956 at the age of 15. The band's name was inspired by the school in Liverpool which he and other members attended, Quarry Bank High School. For the summer of 1957 The Quarrymen because they did concerts combining skiffle and rock and roll.Harry 2000b, p. 738 he met for the first time Paul McCartney July 16 during the second concert of The Quarrymen, at a party held in the garden of the Church St. Peter in Woolton, and then McCartney joined the group.

McCartney said that the aunt of John & quot; thought to the new friends of John lower class & quot; and that often you were with condescension when he went to visit his nephew.Thousands, 1997, p. According to Paul's brother Mike McCartney's father nor approved their new friends, saying that Lennon would bring a lot of problems but later allowed the band ensayara in your home (20 Forthlin Road), where Lennon and McCartney wrote their first songs together. Lennon was 18 years old when he wrote his first song, Hello, Little Girl, who would come to the Top 10 of the United Kingdom when it was performed by The Fourmost nearly five years later.

George Harrison joined as lead guitarist, while Lennon thought Harrison (at 14 years old) was too young to join the group. McCartney had to mount a hearing where Harrison performed Raunchy so that the escuchase.28 later Lennon joined Stuart Sutcliffe, friend of Lennon in school of art, as bassist. 'Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Sutcliffe became The Beatles' at the beginning of 1960 when members leave the group. With regard to the idea that Lennon was always the leader, McCartney explained: "we all admired John." It was more (...) was the most ingenious and intelligent.

In August 1960, The Beatles were contracted to 48 nights in Hamburg, Germany, which was invited to the drummer Pete Best to accompany them. Lennon already had 19 years and his Aunt Mimi didn't like at all the idea of the trip, so he begged to continue with their studies. After his first tenure in Hamburg, they agreed to conduct another in April 1961, and a third in April 1962. As with other members, Lennon began to use Preludin in Hamburg, and it consumed him regularly, as well as amphetamines, which served as them stimulant during his long night-time performances.

After the breakup of The Beatles in 1970, Lennon and Ono went through primal therapy with Dr. Arthur Janov in Los Angeles, California. Designed to release emotional pain from early childhood, treatment consisted in two media days a week with Janov for four months; I wanted to treat the couple for a long time, but they did not feel any need to continue and returned to London. The album debut solo album of Lennon, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (1970), includes the Mother song, which talks about the feelings of abandonment by the parents as a child, and the song "working class Hero", which was banned by BBC Radio for the inclusion of the word fucking ("fucking"). That same year, the revolutionary political views of Tariq Ali, expressed when he interviewed Lennon, inspired the singer to write Power to the People. Lennon also became involved with Ali during a protest against the demand to the magazine Oz for alleged obscenity. Lennon dubbed the procedure as disgusting fascism, and along with Ono (as Elastic Oz Band) released the single "God Save Us/Do the Oz and joined marches in support of the magazine."

In 1971 released his album Imagine. The title track to the album would become an anthem for anti-war movements - and also his most famous song after the breakup of The Beatles. Do while another item, How Do You Sleep?, was a musical attack on McCartney in response to the lyrics of the album Ram that Lennon felt, and that McCartney confirmed more were then directed to he and Ono. While Lennon relaxed its position in the mid-1970s by saying that he had written How Do You Sleep? about himself, 77 and in 1980 revealed, Use my resentment against Paul... to create a song (...) is not a terrible and cruel revenge (...) use my resentment and the separation of Paul and The Beatles, and the relationship with Paulto write 'how Do you sleep'. Actually they won't hang those thoughts in my head all the time. Lennon reflected their natural jealousy in the song Jealous Guy, later immortalized by Roxy Music by bringing him to the top of the charts in 1981 after Lennon's murder.
