BIOGRAPHY:

The early years of the band go back to a small study of vocalist Mike Shinoda. There, along with guitarist Brad Delson (friend and fellow high school of Shinoda), was recorded the first of the band's material. 1995 Era. The two were in the same Institute, where they met drummer Rob Bourdon. Later, when they began to take things more seriously, Shinoda was contacted by DJ Joe Hahn. For its part, Delson shared apartment with bassist David Farell, who was playing in another band (that returned a year later to the project). In 1996 he joined the band Mark Wakefield as a singer. In 1997 there were six members in the group. They decided to call SuperXero, then summary to Xero. They recorded with few resources, in the bedroom used as a study by Shinoda. The purpose was to get a contract with a record label. But the project was unsuccessful. The disappointment was so great that Mark Wakefield decided to leave the group. Farrell also decided to leave the band, but only for a while (it went on tour with their previous band, The Snax). Meanwhile, integrates Kyle Christene as a temporary bassist. The departure of Wakefield caused that the Group sought a new lead singer. Shinoda put an ad in a newspaper in order to recruit a new singer. Chester Bennington was who was interested. Bennington was the State of Arizona and was in the Group of Grey Daze. Then received the demos of Xero. Some songs were performed by another vocalist, and others were instrumental versions. Bennington recorded his voice in instrumental demos and called the band to warn them that it was ready. The band asked him to Bennington to put one of the recordings to your phone. All were very impressed with his voice and decided to convene immediately. After the integration of Bennington in 1999, the band was called Hybrid Theory. Since then, they started recording new material. The problem arose when registering the name, since there was a group with the name Hybrid, by what the band had to change his name again. After so many names, Bennington suggested that the band is called Lincoln Park as a tribute to the Park in Santa Monica that went with his car to return studies. Since then, the band was called Lincoln Park. But there was another problem: the domain "lincolnpark.com" cost more than what the band could allow. They then changed the word "Lincoln" by "linkin". Thus, from this moment and forever, called Linkin Park. Before the name change already were working on new material which turned out to be a 6-track EP called "hybrid theory". It was released in 1999, with the aim of signing a recording contract with a major label. There were many rejections, but that did not stop them. Until that appeared Warner Records. Linkin Park signed immediately. Then, already from the hand of Warner, the band was working on new material for study, released a year later. Here joined Scott Koziol as temporary bassist. "Hybrid Theory", the debut album of Linkin Park, would be one of the best albums of the group. It was released on October 24, 2000 and took half a year of work. The producer was Don Gilmore. The album was a good reception by fans. Group only sold almost 5 million copies during its debut year. The album is composed mostly of lyrical themes dealing with the problems affecting Bennington during his adolescence, including drug and alcohol abuse, and the divorce of parents. The album was # 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and has reached very good and important positions in the rest of the world. The band has sold 24 million copies worldwide, and of those, 10 million copies have been sold only in United States, making it the best selling album in the 21st century. In 2001, Linkin Park was part of Ozzfest, which were many artists on tour, such as Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Crazy Town, Papa Roach, and Disturbed. It was a time when Linkin Park received many invitations to conduct tours of high-profile (including Ozzfest, Family Values Tour and KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas). The band started their own tour called Projekt Revolution, featuring guest artists such as Cypress Hill, Adema, DJ Z-Trip, Xzibit, Mudvayne, Blindside, and Snoop Dogg. Within a year, Linkin Park had performed over 320 concerts. Also in 2001, bassist Koziol leaves the group that returns Farrell. Turning to the issue of the discography, Linkin Park released a special edition of their album "hybrid theory" on March 11, 2002 at Japan. This special edition contains the album, plus 3 live tracks ("papercut", "points of authority" and "to Place for My Head & quot")a new item ("My December & quot") and also a song from the EP debut (High Voltage & quot")only that this version was remixed, adding a totally different musical background and a bridge which appears Chester Bennington. Later that same year, on 30 July, Linkin Park released a new album of remixes titled "reanimation". This album features remixes of the album and the EP "hybrid theory". "reanimation" received the collaboration of many artists, such as Black Thought, Jonathan Davis and Aaron Lewis, among others. While this album was made of old material from the group, was certified Platinum in United States selling 1 million copies. In his week debut sold nearly 270,000 copies. They were many concerts and tours in the world, until in own bus tour, the band began work on a new album: "meteora". Linkin Park continued touring and concerts as he had said previously, and as well continue for a long time, the band decided to work on their new album on the same bus on the tour and use it as a study. The band worked on the new album between saturated and in his leisure time hours. The producer of "meteora" again was Don Gilmore. The band worked almost throughout the year 2002 on the album, until December of the same year. Linkin Park's second album was released worldwide on March 25, 2003. On the day of his debut he won global recognition, it was # 1 in United States and United Kingdom and # 2 in Australia. The band sold over 800,000 copies in its first week. Nearly 3 million copies were sold in October 2003. He had a hit album, clear that the band received heavy criticism. For some it was a kind of "Hybrid Theory part 2", while for others it is harder and denser. The title "meteora" is inspired by the Rocky region of Greece, where numerous monasteries on top of the stones were built. The album allowed the Group mounted a new tour, Projekt Revolution, with several guest artists (Mudvayne, Blindside, and Xzibit). Also in 2003, Metallica invited Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne and Deftones, to participate in the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003. Linkin Park released the same year a live album, CD + DVD, under the title of "Live in Texas". 2004: the band toured again throughout the world (Meteora World Tour). On June 29 of that same year the band released a new album, called "Meteora Tour Edition", containing the songs from Meteora live during the Meteora World Tour. Linkin Park may 15, 2007, released their new album, entitled "Minutes to midnight". The first single, "what I ve Done", was released on April 2, 2007 (the Court was then included on the soundtrack of the first Transformers film released the same year). "Minutes to midnight" he gives an account of an evolution in the sound, but it leans on a softer alternative rock (compared to previous albums). His producer is Rick Rubin, who has worked with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Weezer, Audioslave, System of a Down and Limp Bizkit, among many others. To date have come four singles more. The last was "Leave Out All The Rest", one of the many melodic ballads, with "shadow Of the day", included on this album. The tour of "Minutes to midnight" was scheduled to finish in Asia and South America, but had to cancel due to injury in the hip of Bennington. In November 2008, they released a new DVD, "Road To Revolution: Live at Milton Keynes". Several members announced that they have begun a process of creation of themes for a future album. So far, in 2009, nĂ¼ metal band confirmed his return with a new song, "new Divide". It is the main theme of the soundtrack of "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen", the second film about the animated robots.
