Usagi Drop is a Japanese anime Studio Production I.G. of the year 2011 adapted the same name written by Yumi Unita. It is a heart-warming story addressed to a young adult (seinen/josei). A Slice of Life really worth the effort. See the that they will not regret!

Upon learning of the death of his grandfather Daikichi, a boy of about 30 years returns home to attend the funeral. Upon arrival he meets Rhine, a 6 year-old girl, who happens to be the daughter illegitimate grandfather and unknown mother. The rest of the family, who had no knowledge of the existence of Rhine, don't want to have nothing to do with the quiet girl and speak to send her to an orphanage. Uncomfortable with the attitude of all Daikichi decides to take care of the child, despite being a Bachelor without experience in the difficult task of raising a child. Thus begins his new life with Rhine and they begin to appear the challenges of managing work, family, love life and his new role as a tutor.
The anime focuses on the first half of the story, the struggle of Daikichi to bringlater his new life, while in the you can also see a second part where Rhine already is high school student and has to contend with their own problems as a teenager. So you can expect a second season of the anime!

Rhine is a 6 year old girl, daughter illegitimate grandfather Daikichi, Souichi Kaga, and an artist of called Masako Yoshii. When dies Souichi, Masako left Rhine for the sake of his career as an artist. Rhine is very independent and quite mature for her age, usually dealing with their problems on their own. It is pure sweetness! Me enamore completely from this dwarf!

Daikichi is a Bachelor for 30 years with a tendency to move both to women and children. Although do not mind you scaring children that it doesn't feel great affection for children, appears to be solo as a single. When at the funeral of his grandfather he bothers with the attitude of his family on Rhine, decides to take charge himself caring for the girl child, acting in a knee-jerk manner and without having considered the totality of the situation. Yukari is an attractive 30-year-old woman, divorced and mother of Kouki. When Rhine and Kouki become friends, so do she and Daikichi.
Yukari serves Daikichi guide on several occasions, as when she was also single mother can very well understand the difficulties that the faces.

The , written and illustrated by Yumi Unita, was published between October 2005 and April 2008. The anime is adapted from the first 4 volumes. While the last 5 carry the story to 10 years in the future, Rhine in high school, facing typical teenage problems, such as love situations and if you choose to study or work after school.
Sadly I only found translated into the Spanish until Chapter 9 of volume 2, the rest is in English...
